AICGS Foreign & Domestic Policy Program

AICGS Foreign & Domestic Policy Program

The AICGS Foreign & Domestic Policy Program explores the factors shaping important domestic and foreign policy debates in the United States, Germany, and Europe as they pertain to German-American relations. The Program compares German, EU, and American approaches to common problems, identifies cooperative agendas, and proposes coordinated solutions to new security threats and foreign policy challenges.

Sustaining transatlantic cooperation will require far-sighted adaptation of the U.S.-European and German-American relationships to new strategic and economic realities, societal change, and cultural differences. Management of change - both in the world and in the transatlantic relationship - is the central challenge facing American and European leaders and publics, and the AICGS Foreign & Domestic Policy Program focuses on this challenge in its projects, events, and publications.
