Michael Stock

Michael A. Stock, Senior Analyst for Europe/Germany, Crumpton Group LLC, is an international economic analyst with a focus on Europe and Germany in particular. He has experience in both the private and public sectors, working in the finance industry and at multiple levels of government. Prior to joining Crumpton Group, Mr. Stock was a Robert Bosch Foundation Fellow, assigned to Deutsche Bank Research in Frankfurt and the German Federal Finance Ministry in Berlin. His research at the bank resulted in two published reports, one on the European Union’s (EU) balance-of-payments facility and one on Eurozone migration trends and their subsequent effect on the real economy. In addition, Mr. Stock served as a Fellow of the German Parliament, where he lent his expertise to the EU subcommittee work for a Member of Parliament. Recently, Mr. Stock contributed to the publication of the Atlantic Council’s “Through a New Prism: A Next Generation Strategy for the U.S.-German Relationship.” Mr. Stock speaks German and holds an MS in Foreign Service from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Kansas and has also studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn.

He is a 2016-2017 participant in AGI’s project “A German-American Dialogue of the Next Generation: Global Responsibility, Joint Engagement,” sponsored by the Transatlantik-Programm der Bundesrepublik Deutschland aus Mitteln des European Recovery Program (ERP) des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi).
