Evan Thomas

Program Coordinator

Evan Thomas is the Program Coordinator at AGI. In this role, he is responsible for the logistics and implementation of the Institute’s grants, seminars, workshops, and conferences. He supports the Institute’s annual fundraising gala, the Global Leadership Award Dinner, and manages the AGI internship program.

Before joining AGI in 2026, Mr. Thomas earned a dual master’s degree in European studies and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He graduated summa cum laude from Appalachian State University, where he received a BA in German. Shortly after earning his BA, Mr. Thomas also completed advanced German language coursework at Middlebury College, Vermont.
His previous experiences include transatlantic-focused research internships with the Bertelsmann Foundation and U.S. State Department, as well as time spent as a teaching assistant for beginner German language classes. Mr. Thomas participated as a panelist during the Fourteenth Southeast German Studies Consortium Workshop (SEGSC).
